Frequently asked questions

Who can play, and on which devices?
iPhone and iPad running iOS 15.0 or later. The Game is landscape-only, so on a phone held upright it asks you to turn the device.
How much does it cost? Is there a subscription?
The prologue is free to download. The full story unlocks with a single in-app purchase — no subscription, no consumables, no time-limited unlock. Payment is processed by Apple.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Refunds are handled by Apple: submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com and mention "Hold Still / 封寨之夜". Once refunded, the unlocked content is removed.
How do I restore my purchase?
Sign in to the App Store with the same Apple Account used for the purchase and tap "Restore Purchases" on the Game's product page. Your unlock follows the same Apple Account across devices.
Will I keep my progress after a refund?
Yes. Progress is stored locally on your device and is not removed by a refund, though you lose access to the purchased content.
Subtitles and languages
Cantonese primary subtitles with English secondary subtitles; both can be toggled independently in Settings. The Game is set in Hong Kong in 1987, so Cantonese is the default primary subtitle.
Is there voice acting?
The Game currently has no character voice-over — the Cantonese voice line is still in production — so the shipped build requests no microphone permission and needs no audio licences.
Does the Game need an internet connection? Does it collect data?
No. All text and images are embedded in the app and it does not connect to any server while you play. See the Privacy Policy.
How do saves work? Will I lose them on a new phone?
Progress is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app or switching devices does not transfer progress automatically — the Game does not use any cloud account system.
Is the 咪郁 screen frozen?
No. At a pivotal beat the game asks you to hold still for three seconds and shows the word 咪郁 with a prompt. It is part of the design — looking early comes at a cost.
Can I play on the web?
Yes — a browser version is available. Start playing. It runs the same engine and content as the iOS build, but progress does not carry across between them.
What is the content rating?
17+. The Game contains adult themes, profanity and descriptions of violence.
How do I report a bug or suggest an improvement?
Email us with your device model, iOS version and the steps that reproduce the problem — the more detail the better.
